Just ordered this!

.

It's for my Sz's 4th birthday. I showed him the website and he picked this himself out of a couple designs which i've selected :D

Instead of the figure 6 track on the cake, he will have a figure 4 because he will be 4. Cool huh! I'm sure he'll gloat when he sees it lol.

But when it comes to flavour of the cake and all, it's not much to shout about. It's kids' cakes afterall. I have only 2 choices to choose from.

1- Vanilla sponge on top with chocolate sponge at the bottom with blueberry filling
2- Vanilla sponge on top with chocolate sponge at the bottom with chocolate chip filling

I chosed number 2.

Reason is that Sz will be bringing the cake to school and kids love anything chocolate. So, chocolate it is for the kiddos ;)

Hope it'll be delicious..

My new shoes

Ta-dahhhhh...

Thanks to angel Carolyn, i got these shoes at 10% off. Lol. It was such a coincidence to meet her at Marina Square last Sat, just when i was gonna get the shoes. If not for her, i would have paid an extra $5-6? Thanks dearie

I love the one on the right, so Ferragamo looking! Lol. As for the pair on the left, Carolyn said it was nice and feminine, so i got it as well since i've been looking up and down for a 3" black heels for like the longest time ever but never seem to find the right one. Now i can stop searching already.. Lol.

Funny isn't it? 2 pairs of black shoes at one time but the thing is, i don't own any black heels at all. I have a couple of white heels but not black. I love white, anything white

Man & Wife

I love yesterday's New Paper. It featured some real life love story of some very top politicians in Singapore.

With all the depressing news on divorce, adultery, abuse etc these days, the news on page 4 and 7 was really a good read. It really makes me happy by just reading it. At least, now i know the vow 'In sickness and in health.. till death do us part' really mean something for some couples.

As i was reading it, i couldn't help but to tear. It was so touching. Things that these hubbies would do for their wives especially former President Wee Kim Wee are truly an eye opener for me. *sigh* I cant help but to wonder if my husband would ever feel and do the same for me, or the very least, stay true and love me for the rest of my life?

With all the KTVs, very affordable road side girls, internet, collegues and friends tempting our other half, you really cannot, absolutely cannot help but wonder, y'know. But i must also highlight this, that i have absolute faith in my hb after all our ups and downs. And the wondering part, just a teeny weeny part lah. Which woman has never had such thought before right, no matter how good their hb is.

Before we went to bed last night, i told my hb this -> How i wished he was a politician, not with the opposition party of course but with PAP. He asked me why. I told him because if he was one, he will have an image to keep up for as long as he lives and that way, he has no choice but to stay true to me, one and only and no one else. These politicians are indeed someone we need to trust and look up to. They can never afford to have their image or lives ruined or tarnished because of an affair or divorce or 3rd party right? (the opposition party not counted hoh-> the sexy photo maid saga)

And my hb's reaction? Laugh! *kabish*

There's another part which i love too. It's about how the women stood behind their husbands quietly and courageously, fanned their spirits, nursed their egos, be their pillar of strength and love them unreservedly. I wish i am like that too. I know i will try to be one *blush* lol.

I do not need many words from hb. The ultimate one i would love to hear is " I cant live without you".

I usually dislike quoting others but this, is absolutely an exception. Extracted from the same article, quote by Mr Seng (i have no idea who he is) ..

"There's no doubt that behind every successful man, there's a successful woman. But i want to add : Behind every man who fails, there are two women."

Genius! All men should take note of this.

The article for page 4 : http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,4136,102669,00.html?

The article for page 7 : http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,4136,102680,00.html?

Thank you. Thank you for making me believe that till death do us part and happy ever after do exist afterall.

Calling all oat lovers

If you love, crazy, mad over oat and cookies, you will love the combination of this

The packaging

How it looks like

I got this from Marina Square from a shop called Taiwan Lao Zhao Pai or Lao Di Fang. Can't remember which one *bleh*. All the goodies in the shop are imported directly from Taiwan. If you like Taiwanese titbits, biscuits etc.. you don't have to go far now *wink*

It is so good that i can finish the whole packet before my meal. Once i start, i couldn't stop. Lol. I love the texture, the taste, the crispiness and the roughness too. It's not sweet at all, surprisingly. It comes in a couple of flavours. The one i bought was the original one and the other box i got was black sesame. The honey flavour one was highly recommended by the boss too but we didn't get that though. You can ask to sample them if they didn't get to you first :P Very good service i must say.

Each box costs $8.90 and it has 6 packets in it. Each packet contains 16 pieces of the cookie. The price is definitely not cheap but i'll say, it's worth a try! At least, for once? *grin*

And no, i am not paid to advertise for them. I wished i was, even a free box of my cookies will do

Another new found oat biscuits/ crackers is as below. Also worth mentioning :D

The other biscuit

Got this from NTUC last week. When i saw the word 'oat', i knew i had to get it to try. Lol. I love anything and everything oat except for oat porridge. Ewww!

Now, let me see. This biscuit is definitely better than digestive biscuit (i also happen to love digestive biscuits). However, it is pretty high in calories though. 2 biscuits will cost you 100 cal! And i can eat more than 6 at one go. That's like equivalent to a main meal. *gasp*

Nevertheless, it is really yummy. Will be good for breakfast, especially for those working ladies out there. It's hassle free, healthy, yummy, cheap and you can finish them within 1 minute! One packet (2 pcs inside) plus a cup of milk = breakfast already ;)

Congrats Mindy!

.
My dear friend Mindy just gave birth last night at 8.47pm to be exact to a healthy baby boy. Even though the chances of her seeing this is as slim as the paper but i would still like to dedicate today's entry to her :D

Congratulations girl!

I'm so very happy for you

The worst (birthing itself) is over. Lol. Now can safely stop operation in the factory liao but cannot close hor! Hehehe *bleh*

Can't wait to see you and your precious later ;)

p.s: this would mean no more luncheons and hi-teas for us anymore lor hor

New hair colour

I got my hair coloured again on Tuesday night at Toni and Guy. This time, the colour is more blackish red than brownish red. But if you don't look close enough, you might have thought i didn't colour my hair afterall. Pretty natural i must say. Grin. Next time i must do something drastic instead lol.

Will be cutting my hair too, probably next week. My sil can't wait to layer my hair till the max to get my curls all out. If i don't like it which i'm 100% sure that i wont, she'll do relaxer for me after that. I cant wait to have straight hair! Yay! :D

Looking forward to my straight hair.. :P

Dinner

.
Had this for dinner last night, fried kuey teow.

It had been a long time since i last fried one, at least 4 years back. Back home in KL, i was pretty famous for this dish of mine. Whenever my bro in law from Taiwan comes visiting, mom would be asking me to do this signature dish of mine and i was only 18 then!

Nevertheless, yesterday's version was not as good as last time though. Slightly too oily for my liking. Instead of adding a splash or two water now and then, i added oil instead, thinking it might be tastier but boy, i was wrong. Shouldn't have done that. Silly ol' me..

Been having so much oily food these days. So unhealthy of me! Curry puff lah, fried kuey teow lah x2, curry chicken lah, deep fried sea bass lah, deep fried fish slices with sweet and sour sauce lah etc. You name it, i might have had it. Lol.

Today, Mindy and i were supposed to go for lunch at Railway Mall after watching Adrian Pang's makan show on tv last night. The tiramisu he was having looked so darn good! Haha.. 'food crazy siao cha boh' (Mindy's quote) us couldn't resist it anymore so that was how the date came about. However, this morning, i received her sms saying she's been spotting! Baby's coming out soon!! I'm so excited and thrilled for her. Hope she'll have a safe, smooth and quick delivery later if it's not a false alarm. Hehe.. So, lunch date got cancelled and calories saved.
*phew* Lol.

GUG

Today is the last day of baby's class at Gug. Been there for almost a year now. Feel kinda sad actually. It's so in my routine already. Every Tue and Thu morning, sure will bring baby to school till noon. But not anymore. Sigh.

There are a couple of reasons why i decided to stop. Firstly, hb has been complaining about the fees, $580 for 8 weeks! But for the past few days and today, fickled minded him also told me that if i really wanna continue, go ahead since baby seems to enjoy the class a lot. Nah, no thanks! Once i have made up my mind, that's it. Think what? Masak ah? *kabish*

Also, baby seems to be getting restless too for the past few classes. Always wanna do his own stuff unlike last time, really very good boy one. Sit down nicely and listen. Last but not least reason is, the class is getting bigger and bigger. Gosh.. First, it was 8 kids. Now, it's 12! Really like pasar malam.. plus there are 2 big bullies with constant crying in the class too since beginning of this term. Really scary. So very naughty too.. gosh, cant imagine if they were my kids. I would have needed dozens of sessions from Woodbridge!

Ultimately, what i will miss most is the time i get to spend with my kiddo, alone, during the journey there and back, bus and mrt rides, in the class itself, walking thru the tunnel if we were to take mrt etc. Aihh.. Even though it's only a couple of hours, we really did get to bond really well! Usually after his class, the rest of the day after that would be him the Pooh bear and me the honey pot. Aiiihhh...

I really dislike changes. I wish the clock will stop ticking at this very day too.. I don't wanna grow old. I don't want my parents to grow old. And i don't want my kids to grow up. I want things to be like now forever and ever.. If only it could. Sigh

I want d bag!

Hb just installed the new IE and something's wrong with it. I cant type. Gotta log into hb's side instead

Anyway, this would be a summary entry for things i've done for the past few days..

  • Fortune telling
Had my session on Tuesday afternoon with Master Neo. Overall, i would say, same ol' same ol'. Nothing too revealing nor exciting. Probably my expectations were too high? As for accuracy, hmm.. didn't ask him to guess anything at all. So i really don't know. Thank God i only paid $68 for it instead of $100! *phew*

  • Shopping at Marina Square
Went shopping with mil yesterday and it was pretty disappointing. I don't quite like go shopping with her these days. Too much complaining especially if she couldn't find or buy clothes that she likes. Well, she's too small to begin with so, it is really hard to clothes that fit her snugly in the first place. However, we didn't come back empty handed though. Mil bought 2 tops for me from Esprit and a towel set too and for herself, an Esprit top too, same as mine. Not quite time wasting afterall, isn't it? *wicked* lol.

Went into one boutique (opp URS Inc) and i saw the bag of my life!! It's white, shoulder bag, medium size and it has got sequins all over. Totally glam! *swoon* But it's $89.90! *boo-hoo*

And i want it in black too! I'm so dead.. *die* Will be checking it out again on Sat.. sigh. Hope i wont like it the second time round. Been thinking of it ever since i laid my eyes on it yesterday. Sigh.

Poor hubby

Yesterday was certainly not hb's day. First thing in the morning at work, a cyclinder weighed 50kg fell on his left foot while unloading. Imagine that!

I once had a lock fell on my foot and it hurt like crazy already. And hb's case was 50kg cyclinder *sigh* At first things were ok, he could still walk as per normal - yaya lah must be. Lol. Then slowly, the pain creeps in till he can hardly walk. So in the end, i had to go pick hb up around lunch time.

You know what they say about bad things come in two, or something like that. *bleh* How true. We were at an open space car park waiting to park (going to see the traditional chinese tui na) when the car in front of us reversed into us after us being at their back for more than 30seconds! I seriously cannot understand why some people do not check their rear mirror before reversing? And what makes things worst is, after the whole episode of her apologising, she got the cheek to ask her repair shop to call us after that and say it was not her fault entirely! We were to share the blame and for insurance, claim half half. Wah liao eh!

Thank god hb is not one to be bullied. In the end, they know they cant play us in so, told us to bring the car down for them to look at..

Some people oughtta be shot! *fire*

Cravings!

Was just talking to Livia and then accidentally touched on the food and cake topic.

Bad.. real bad

Now i have very strong craving for cakes. *die*

I wanna eat tiramisu!! *boo-hoo*

Think.. thinking.. the fastest way i can get my hands on the cake *flash*

I have ordered from
www.tiramisutra.com before, sometime last year and it was good! I'm a tiramisu lover or rather, any kind of cake lover lol, so 1 bite in, and i'll know. Hehe.. plus, i can get my cake just a dial away! As easy as ABC.. but it needs 2 days in advance! Arrghh..

Actually, my craving was sort of stirred up yesterday. Saw a review on a new product from Beard Papa in the paper last night, tiramisu! Lol.. Now they having a promotion. Only $1.60 instead of the normal $2. I so want!!

Anyway, time to get more peeps to crave together with me!

The one i've ordered before. Super yummy but best to consume within 1 day before it gets soggy. I did! 1 day and it was gone.. *slurp*

Choco-misu. The next one which i am gonna get my hands on. Yum yum!

Last night..

Hb and i had our super late dinner at 10pm at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ restaurant. Had to make babies sleep first before going out since we didn't bring them over to in laws' place.

It was my first time there and second for hb. Hb did try to bring me there 2 weeks back but we got turned away coz it was fully occupied then. We didn't make any reservation that very night because the first time hb went, it wasn't full house at all (probably it was a weekday when he went). So we thought, that was the case for it everyday plus UE2 is so out of the way! :P

But now we know yeah? Must make reservation! :D

www.gyu-kaku.com.sg

The beef that we had looked like this. Serious! It was so delicious and juicy that the whole thing felt so sinful, gosh. Hahaha. But i must say, it was really worth getting fat because of it. Lol.

However, if we were to go back there again, we would not be taking the same cut anymore. Contained too much fat which makes it hard to chew, for me that is. Would definitely order the Wagyu premium sirloin or fillet cut the next time round.

Also, another dish that we would love to try is their lamb basil. Looks yummy! But we didn't order that last night though. Too full. We had their mixed seafood platter instead (lurve their huge prawn and scallops! *slurp*) and their Ishiyaki Binbinba - salmon and roe rice in hot stone bowl which was fantastic!

Think this restaurant would be in our visit-very-frequently-restaurant list soon

After dinner, we moved on to dessert. Where else but Haagen-Dazs at Siglap. It had been ages since we last went to one. Everything looked so divine! Couldn't make up my mind at all. So in the end, told hb to pick one instead. *grin* We had the one which has macadamia cookies with 2 scoops of ice cream. Arghh, cant recall the arty-farty name *bleh*.
Must be too-much-good-food-in-a-night that did it

Ahh, what a night

p.s: See what i told you about my very temporary new found weight? Lol..

Camping day

This morning, hb suddenly announced that we will be going camping today at East Coast Park. It has been amonth since we bought the new camp and 2 sleeping bags, so i guess it's time to make use of it aye?

There weren't time for any preparation, so i just grabbed whatever i have in the cupboard for snacking. It's always like that. Hb should have given me an advance notice so that i could prepare some yummy lunch to bring along. *kabish*

We reached there about noon. Imagine how hot it was! Gosh.. I was burning all over. The kids turned rosy after a while. And it was worst inside the camp! No ventilation at all. So much for wanting to take a nap at the breezy beach. Aihhh..

This was the first time i have ever pitched a tent. Pretty easy i must say. Hee.. Probably coz hb was there helping or rather, the other way round! Lol.

Nevertheless, it was fun and definitely something new for all of us. Would love to do it again but at a different timing of course. Preferably either early in the morning or late in the evening. Lesson learnt

Our very first tent

Shuoze and i. *peace*

Vainpot me in my new MNG sunnies :P

Rosy cheeks babies

Grumpy baby

My fav photo =)

Yee-haw!

I lost a total of 1.5kg from my 3 days detox. Unbelievable! But then, peeps usually lose more than 2kg. Oh well, better than nothing yeah..

Initially as reported on my yesterday's entry, i really thought i didn't lose any weight at all since i didn't notice any difference. Only realised my weight lost when i weighed myself on a digital weighing machine this morning. However, i'm pretty sceptical about the weight lost coz i'm sure it's just a temporary thingie only. Will give myself another 2 days for my current weight. After that, i'm sure it would be my old weight again..

I'm such a pessimist!

Last day!

Yes! No more suffering

Today is the last day of my detox programme. However, i didn't pass with flying colours y'know! Reason is, i kinda gave in at about 6ish pm for something i couldn't resist, grilled chicken

Sigh, i know i know. I should have continued on for a couple of hours more and that's it. But the thing is, this afternoon around 3+ pm, something i've been waiting to happen, happened.. Felt my stomach going round and round as though it was on some cleansing process. Not long after that, stomach ache followed. He he he..

Disgusting story cut short. In another word, i felt so clean there after!

So, does it sound logical to give in after that? Or should i just continue? Aihhz, probably, i should have just continued aye, just for the sake of completing the whole thing. Oh well, there will always be another time. Lol.

And no, i didn't lose any weight at all. Also, i really cant tell if i've got a clearer complextion as well? Funny hor! The only thing that i can be sure of now is that, after 3 days of eating nothing but fresh fruits and vegetables, i feel pretty wary of what i eat now. The thought of eating oily, greasy, heavy food kinda turns me off (but not cakes though :P ). I certainly hope this is the way it will be forever and ever, man *wait long long ah*

Day 2

Breakfast : My fruits and vege concoction

Lunch : Salad

Snack : Orange and grapes

Dinner : Again, the drink - starting to get sick of it already :P

Hb was bad, real bad!

Went to watch Walk The Line last night since he could book out for the day. After that, we went to our favourite fried hokkien mee place at Geylang for supper. You guys wont believe what he did! He actually blew and blew the smell of the food to me and eat in such a way that i almost died from temptation! Gosh.. it was terrible! Hahaha..

Luckily, i managed to tahan. God knows where the strength came from.. Certainly something new to me

1 more day to go! Yay! :D

Happy Birthday to Yasmeen!

.
Today is my very dear friend's birthday.

Happy 26th Birthday to you, darling!

It had been 8 years since i celebrated your last birthday with you. Terribly long since we had the last blast isn't it? Time to come back soon, my dear *grin*.

Still remembered the first birthday of yours which i missed. I was in Penang and you girls had the dinner at a chinese restaurant. Then, the following years, birthdays would mean getting pressies! :P

Your 1st away birthday pressie was sent from Australia. Got 2 packets of Indo mee goreng, a really adorable organizer and what else ah? *scratch head* 2nd birthday was a white toga tie-neck lacey top from MPhosis. Another year's pressie went missing *boo-hoo*. And the rest cant remember liao except for last year's. A pair of earrings and a white beaded clutch. And for this year, u wait patiently ok? Lol. Hope you'll love this year's pressie dear! ;)

Any special plans for you in States?

Whatever it is, hope everything will turn out great for you this year, much much better than the previous years yeah. All the best gal! *hugz*

Confession

Hahahhaa.. yes, i have a confession to make.

I ate something last night when i went supper with hb at 10ish pm. I know i am not supposed to but i couldn't stand it! Lol. I can't just sit there and look at hb eat, can i? :P

Okie, i had vegetable soup. Basically, it was kang kong in a clear soup. That's all. I swear. Hb had laksa yong tau hoo *slurp* and i was really drooling over it. That was why i had the vege soup instead. Not so bad right? *self comforting*

I love my gfs!

Some of the silly photos we got, courtesy from Carolyn's camera

Dinner at Yingthai Palace was a blast! We had so much fun. You know what they say about having a few good friends is better than having a bunch of normal friends? Well, i for one, really know the true meaning of that. I love you girls

Food was great, really.. no joke. Hb dislikes thai food but i think if i were to bring him there one day, he would love it as much as i do!

We had mango salad, chicken green curry, deep fried pomfret with mango sauce, seafood tom yum soup, thai spring beans with curry and last but not least, Desire from Bakerzin.

Note to birthday girl : Sorry for not able to send you to Brix. Was really pressured to go fetch sons asap because of my in laws especially when they know their grandchildren would be having school the next day :(

Gosh, i so wanna go back there and eat everything NOW! *slurp*

I wanna eat! I wanna eat! I wanna eat! I wanna eat so badly but i cant, at least, not yet .. *sigh*
