Check this out - BOAC

Just found this fantastic website which offers travel packages that is out of this world.

http://www.boac-online.com/

I've never, never liked travelling with local tour agents. I think they are such a waste of time, always moving in huge group, forever waiting for the late comers.. what's worst, factories visits and eating YUCKY chinese food in a foreign country!

I've always been someone who love great outdoor (provided my stronger half is there to take care of me though :P ), love mother nature .. so this newly found website is god sent!

I really cant wait to join their tours. Sounds fantastic and the pricing is very reasonable too. Grr, if only i came across this last year. Esshhh! Now i gotta wait for at least 1.5 years before i could go for such tours.. Sigh.

p.s: YES! Hb's not going to Nepal anymore.. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah

Discomfort

I'm having difficulty in breathing right now. I've not suffered from heartburn before so i have no idea what that is. But from what i've checked out, heartburn = indigestion.

However, i don't think i'm suffering from indigestion. What i'm feeling is more on difficulty in breathing, dizzy and felt as though there's a huge stone on my chest.

Been in this condition since last night. Had a tough time falling asleep. Think i was on the bed contemplating to sleep for more than an hour while the other guy was snoring away. Kabish!

If this goes on, i will be calling doc soon.

Still craving for Mexican food by the way. On top of that, 2 additional cravings have been added to the list as well. They are :

  • Indian food
  • Thai food
Gosh, this is an extremely expensive pregnancy. Seems like the baby really know what she/he wants and will only have certain cuisine at certain time. Lol. If the food that she/he wants is not present at meal time, the baby rather not eat at all.. and starts torturing the poor mom by making her nauseous. Ugh.

EDD

Saw my gynae on Thursday. I'm only 7 weeks pregnant, not 8 :(

EDD is on 10th January 2007, a day after hb's birthday but i'm really hoping for a December baby. Will definitely exercise like mad when nearing delivery date (to induce) so that baby will come out earlier. Hee hee.

Feeling better each day. Hardly nauseous anymore. Thank god! But tired, yes.. all the time. Does that mean i can go Nepal for trekking next month?? *wink*wink*

Thursday, May 25, 2006

I want..

  • lotsa salmon sashimi with wasabi
  • Mexican food
NOW!

Too bad my chauffer will be working OT for the next 3 nights [read : weekends!] till midnight. Sobs :(

Horrible

I know i've not updated my blog for the longest time..

Been feeling tired, sick, nauseous, lethargic.. hence spending more than 15 mins using the computer has been quite some task for me. Most time, i'm on bed, wanting to vomit but till today, i havent managed to vomit anything out naturally. Just that gagging feeling. Terrible.

Hb has been really sweet and nice this time round. Been chauffering me almost to the whole island to satisfy my food cravings and constantly 'visiting' me in the bedroom to see how i am. Love ya dude! :P

What's bad is that after eating the food i wanted, i feel like throwing up and was crept by this thought ->
the food i just had was disgusting. How did i stomach it? And i had to vomit out a little so that i would feel much better else the food will be up to my throat, threatening to come out by itself. Sigh.

Terrible.

Hopefully this is part of the morning sickness and not because i've turned bulimic.

Super thrilled

I finally found my therapist cum friend! Yes yes yes..

I've lost touch with her for almost 2 years now. The last time i spoke to Ida was sometime after my post natal massages which she did for me whether if i want my monthly massage. I said no coz with 2 kids, expenses are high. What's more, we just had a maid then. Ever since that incident, i've lost touch with her.

I even called Amrita Spa to look for her but i was told that she went back to Indonesia. As for her hp, it wasn't in service anymore. She must have thought i didn't want her service anymore. Thus, no more contacting me ever since.

Then today, when i was supposed to go for my massage with my sis in law at Summer Spa, they told me they cant do it for me because of my condition - pregnant. I was so sad. Was so looking forward to it. Wanted to make use of the next few months to lie down on my stomach while massaging but no, they don't wanna take the risk till i'm past my first trimester. By then, i cannot lie down on my stomach anymore. Boo hoo!

Anyway, it was a blessing in disguise afterall. After my round of shopping at Liang Court, i went back to Summer Spa to wait for sil. While waiting, 2 of the therapists and i began chatting away. Somehow we got to post natal massage topic and i told them about my very much missed therapist. They asked me for the name and voila, Liza the therapist knows Ida! Ida was her trainer at another spa a couple of months back.. i was overjoyed.

She then told me Ida was 'head hunted' to join the spa. That was why she quit Amrita and changed her hp. Uh huh, she is that good. She had told me quite many times about being 'head hunted' but she wasn't so keen on it. But this time, the pay was too attractive to say no. When i got to know her 3 years ago, she revealed that she was already earning $3k plus. I cannot imagine her salary now. Grin.

Anyway, i managed to track down the telephone number of the spa she is working currently and left a message for her. Seems like she still remembers me. When i called the second time a few seconds after my first call to ask for their website, the person who answered the phone asked if i was her client from Amrita Spa and that she will call me back using her own private hp.

Yiippeeeeeee! Cant wait to talk to her again.. miss her magic fingers. Lol.

*burp* Sorry but i had super good lunch today. Spicy ramen rocks!

p.s : I had always enjoyed her private sessions at the comfort of my own house because even though i only paid for an hour's session, she never failed to extend it to 2.5 hours :D

Blu

Hb brought me to Blu last Friday to celebrate my birthday. It was a really really nice place to go if not for the price. I think this by far, is the most expensive meal we ever had in our entire life. Lol. Will be eating grass from now on :P

For the uninitiated, Blu is located at Shangri La Hotel, top floor. From the website :

Luxuriate in elegant BLU with a breathtaking city view against the dreamy night sky, enjoying fine Californian cuisine, premium wines and champagne by the glass and the soulful sounds of live jazz.

I really enjoyed myself tremendously that night.. so romantic. Love the fact that the place is not crowded plus the service is top notch! Excellent i must say. Same goes to food. One of the very very few places i'll give 9.5 out of 10 for food.

Another place with excellent food but gentle on your pocket (er, not exactly gentle lah but it isn't as bad as Blu) would be Ember at Hotel 1929 which also have excellent service. We went there for our Christmas eve dinner last year :D

But if you want to impress someone, Blu is da place to go ;)

Another thing.. do go after 8pm because the live jazz starts then.

We'll definitely go back there again, when we are feeling richer in the future ;)

What i had :

Sapphire Menu

amuse

pan seared brittany scallops

today's risotto

pine nut crusted mulawara lamb
roasted shallot & chive flan, mint pesto

strawberry trifle
mascarpone mousse, almond amaretti cookie

What hb had :

Cobalt Menu

amuse

pan seared rougie foie gras
orange cranberry chutney, ginger toast

lobster bisque

grilled tenderloin of wagyu beef
mustard scented potato purée, aragula and natural jus

vanilla crème brulée
fresh berries, brandy snap tuile

Yums!

Me!

Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me
Happy Birthday to me

Oh no, i cannot believe i am 26! Ugh..

Well, i don't mind growing old actually as long as the wrinkles and flabs stay AWAY! :P

Had a surprise birthday celebration last night at Karaoke. My sis in laws and their bfs, mil and hb were there and the pleasant surprise was my birthday cake brought in by the boss in the midst of the singing session. What's more wonderful is that i even got a surprise gift from the Karaoke boss! It was a gorgeous white colour watch - my fav colour!

That's not all.. i've got a beautifully composed poem by my sils with came with my birthday card and gift. Check this out!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having you to love is reason enough
To celebrate...
But now that it's your birthday,
There's all the more reason.
We could wish you
All kinds happy things..
And you'd deserve them all..
But since you're so special,
We want to wish you
All the happiness you've given us.
You're a very warm and caring person,
And you've made
Such a difference in our lives.
No matter where we go
Or what we do,
You're the one
Who make those times wonderful.
That's why we hope
Your birthday celebration
Is especially wonderful as you..
After all your birthday
Only happens once a year..
And someone like you
Only happens
Once in a lifetime.
So sweet of them! *faint* Lol.
However, that's not the only story i've got. I've got some
ahem-ones too.
My
kayu actually wanted to surprise me by buying a cook book from Amazon.com and boy, he sure did. But.. the book he got was not the book i've listed in my wishlist sometime end of last month. Instead, it was a chocolate everything baking book, hoping that i'll make more chocolate cakes for him. Unfortunately, what the kayu didn't realise was, the book is meant for people who don't bake from scratch but from cake mixes.. *faint again but not from joy, but from 'kek sim' instead*
I know i know, it's the thought that counts but why oh why cant he just get me the diamond earrings which i've been wanting for years? *kabish*
psstt : actually i know why.. amazon.com is just a click away! Right
kayu?
Anyway, i've got something to share..
My fav photos..
Took them yesterday, right after i woke up.. uh-huh, before i brush my teeth, wash my face, comb my very messy hair, change out from my pjs etc.. *hide*
So please, do pardon the very unglam side of me but i still love the photos to bits :D
My boys.. my everything.
Food entry
Created this recipe myself, strawberry cupcake.. made from strawberries.
Now i know why people don't use strawberries to bake.. because you cant bring the flavour out at all.
Anyway, i was pretty disappointed but nevertheless, it tasted pretty nice with a tiny hint of strawberry.
Whole meal bread. I was so glad that it was successful. I never had luck with breads and buns but thankfully, this time it turned out perfect!
We finished one loaf right after i took it out from oven.. *burp* :P
My physically retarded looking bull's eye cheesecake, baked for my sil's birthday.
What a waste! I think the crack has a lot to do with the dark colour springform tin i used.
However, the taste? Delicious! Will try this again and hopefully, no more cracking!
This is what we have last night.. nasi lemak, Malaysian's style.
The difference between Malaysia's and Singapore's is we use hard boiled egg instead of sunny side up, we don't have fried small fish, we have lotsa peanuts and ikan bilis and we hardly eat them with fried chicken wing. We have them with rendang or chicken curry or sambal sotong instead.
And if you ask me, i'll say, Malaysia's version anytime! Bleah :P
It was my first attempt cooking rice with santan and of course, my first attempt of cooking nasi lemak for dinner. We had it with beef rendang. Yums. Er, do pardon the colour of the photo though. Abit too dark to bring out the nice colour :P
The cookies i have here is Melting Moments or Yoyo by Aussies. They are totally addictive and like what the name suggested, melt in your mouth.
I've gone to heaven and back eating them. Hehe.. Very sinful but it's worth it :D
This Japanese Souffle Cheesecake is different from the sponge cheesecake i baked before this. It is similiar to what we get from Fiesta but my version is not as light, slightly denser and heavier which is purrfect.
Very yummy. Love it!
Shoes!
I've gone mad in KL buying shoes, shoes and more shoes.
I'm not really a shoe person usually but can i say no when i see so many beautiful pair of shoes at one go?
I'm really really fussy when it comes to shoes, which explains why i own less than 10 pairs before this. I usually wear the same old pair all the time when i go out dressing casually and as for slightly presentable shoes, i only have 1 black pair and 1 white pair which i think is sufficient enough.
Anyway, when i was in KL last weekend, looking for a champagne colour shoe to match my champagne dress, i was in for more than that, yippee of course! Reason why i bought them was they are at the height i like, i love their simple yet classy design plus the colour does play a part too. Grin.
By the way, i would have gotten 2 more pairs if they have it in my size. Oh well.. next time! ;)
My new black heels
My red pair which i quite hesitate to get at first since i don't have red clothings. .
My champagne pair with butterfly diamantes
Finally, my bronze pair, same design as the black. Couldn't resist the colour :P
I AM A HAPPY GIRL! Lol.
Away again
We'll be heading to KL at noon today specially for another gf's wedding.
I will be driving up for the first time alone, with 2 boys and my helper. Hb is worried sick and so is my bestie. But you know what? Everything will be alright, don't worry.. i'll be super safe and careful ok? :)
Tonight is the hen's night.
Theme : French.
Ahh.. wonder what the gals are up to this time. Too bad i will not be bringing the camera. Hb is not gonna be with me and the camera cannot fit into my clutch sadly. So, no camera and no pics. Boo-hoo.
Been really busy lately, mostly doing my gf's wedding presentation from the bridesmaid. Yeah, doing it all by myself even though there are 3 of us. *kabish* But i really enjoyed it though. Grin.
Will post the link to the presentation later. It's not the typical photo slideshow. I came up with something really different for my gf. A hand drawn cartoon slideshow on how the couple met. Pretty comical and i love it. It's really adorable. Hopefully everyone will love it too.
But i didn't draw them though. I just described each and every picture on how i want it to be and my bestie drew it for me. My drawing cannot make it ah! :P
Gosh, i'm so excited. Mostly (don't laugh) because i'll be wearing my beautiful tube dress from Olive Suite and to be a first timer bridesmaid since i got married! Hohohoho.
Il Lido's review
I love the place!
Something embarrassing happened though. The staff thought it was my birthday instead of my sil. Sil was too shy to tell them that it was her birthday because it was her boss who made the reservation on our behalf [sil's boss knows the owner].
When we first reached, she was busy introducing us to the guy who was running the place. But my guess is, he is the floor manager. I don't think owners go around checking things out right?
So yeah, she actually told the floor manager that it was my birthday and at the end of our dinner, they came around with a chocolate cake and sing Happy Birthday to me! I tried to stop them but i couldn't. Hehe.. so, i got my birthday celebrated early this year (but the pig still owes me though) :P
Food : 7/10
Ambience : 9.5/10
Service : 10/10
Price : 9.5/10
Will i go back there again? You bet!
p.s: the bar/lounge is worth checking out. Pricing is reasonable and the view + ambience is fantastic!
Il Lido
Woo hoo!
We'll be dining at Il Lido at Sentosa tonight to celebrate my sil's birthday. It was a last minute thingie. It got me all excited that i can barely sleep in the afternoon. Why? Coz i was brainstorming over what to wear. Yeah, i know. What a bimbo! Haha.. but it's Il Lido!
The most talked about restaurant at the moment (psst: bcoz it has just opened not too long ago :P). The IT restaurant. The restaurant with fantastic sea view (psstt again: but the cargo ships are in the view too :P).
Didn't know what else to wear. So ended up with a babydoll dress which i bought in HK for less than S$20! Lol. I hope no one can tell it's only $20. Fingers cross. Furthermore, it looks more for daytime wear than evening wear. Ugh. That's the downside of being a stay-at-home-mom. Hardly any formal and proper clothes in wardrobe. Blah!
More reasons to buy more proper, pricier clothings in the future. Yes! :P
Gotta go do make up. Will update on the restaurant soon.
For more info on Il Lido, go to www.il-lido.com but there is nothing there at all except for address and phone number. *Roll eyes*
