Me the wife

Nice me ~
  • considerate - even when i'm still boiling in the middle of the night, i don't send my sms-es to the husband who is sound asleep. Because i don't wanna wake him up and lose his precious sleep. Instead, i'll send it to his work phone. He'll see it in the morning.
  • nice - nice lor. I practically live for the husband *hide*
  • loving - i love to dote on my man. Whenever i go shopping, i'll think of the husband and try to buy something back for him.
  • affectionate - i love to touch hb's face when we are about to sleep, stroke his hair and i love looking at hb when he's sleeping + love hugging and small pecks
  • not a nagger - it's the husband, not me! :P
  • no PMS - really! My mood is usually dictated by the husband's mood *hide*
  • no tantrums - i am not someone who is unreasonable. I don't simply flare up for no reason.
  • forgive easily - all the husband needs to do is just push some right buttons and i'll be okay again :)
  • faithful, fiercely - my brain rules the heart in this case
  • not materialistic - well, at least no longer is! Hee hee hee.. :P
  • dislike quarreling - i don't spoil the day with remarks which are uncalled for. Even if i'm unhappy, i rather keep quiet most of the time for peace's sake. I wasn't like this in the beginning but after a while, you'll realise quarreling is exhausting.
Not so nice me ~
  • like to sleep - i can sleep till noon if i want!
  • i don't wake up to prepare breakfast [but the brekkie is already on the table hor] for the husband at 6am - i need my sleep mah but i do cook lunch [for kids] and dinner [for the whole family] on daily basis okie!
  • stubborn - i do think i'm right most of the time, which i am! Er.. see.
  • dislike housework. Period.
  • vindictive - only to the husband! eg : if hb mistreats me, i'll ill-treat him back. Hohoho.
  • not an excellent mother. I don't live and breathe children, sadly.. as much as i wanted to.
  • i'm an A *blush*. Used to be a full B pre-kids. Ugh.
  • er.. i'm quite lazy too. Hahaha.. like to sleep + dislike housework = lazy!

There are many types of wives around. Friends, family, relatives and some, i even read them through forums!

Some very garang, some very nice but not too many unfortunately [same goes for nice husbands of course], in another word, all kinds.

Most of the time, i'm pretty nice, soft and submissive. But the husband cannot bully me. Because when he does, i'll bite.

And my purpose of this entry?

To let hb knows he's very lucky lorr. Hahahahhaa...

So don't take me for granted hor, PIG.

But then, the husband has never. never told me that he's lucky to have me before *sniffs*. The pessimistic husband says he will only know on the day i die. Grrrrr...

p.s : or maybe not so lucky after all.. since my list of not so nice me is so long! o.O

Me no like..

when i read the paper yesterday. Life section to be exact.

Sigh.

I don't wanna grow old.

I fear growing old. In fact, i fear getting older year by year. If possible, i would like to freeze this second, this minute right now.

I fear not because i will look old and ugly.

I fear not because i will get wrinkles or the skin will sag.

I fear not because i will start balding.

I fear..

because i know i will start losing my loved ones one by one.

I know it is inevitable but i still do.

Sometimes when i've got nothing better to do and start thinking about it, i do end up crying. Silly isn't it? But i can't help it. I cannot imagine how my life would be if any of my loved ones were to leave me one day. To be honest, until today.. i have never lost anyone i love deeply before. I was born into a life without grandparents from both sides since day 1 and everyone i have from day 1, i still have them now.

I do not know how it feels like to lose someone dear to me and i don't wish to know.

So yeah, reading the article on the super centenarians somehow brought me tears. I felt sad when i read that one of them actually wish to be dead. She actually outlived everyone she knows. Her husband, children, siblings and friends. Sigh. I think i would too if i were her.

But for now, all i can do is pray for good health for everyone i know of, especially my parents and my family members.

And i also secretly pray that i will not outlive my children and my husband.

Yeah, i know i do complain about the husband here and there [not romantic lah, kayu lah, dunno how to play with the kids lah etc but then, which wife/gf never complains about their other half?] but ultimately, he is the only one i ever want to be with for the rest of my life. And if i can choose again, hb is still the person i wanna be with for the rest of my life.

I think if hb ever goes earlier than me, i'd also probably go after a week or 2. Too heart broken they say?

And you know what? I think if my parents are really going for the Europe trip with my sisters next March, i'd definitely join them. As for the Shanghai trip with the gfs in March (as well), i think that can wait a while even though i'm dying, really dying to go with them. No more dilemma already. Good good.

Lives cannot be taken for granted. Life is unpredictable.

Gotta go call mom now. To tell her how much i love her. And for the dad, i'll just pass the message. Too shy to say it out right! Heh.

p,s: this post doesn't sound right hor? Too much thoughts to pen it down. So just anyhow write :P

Not so nice Sunday

Yeah, there is nice Sunday and not so nice Sunday too. Afterall, life can never be perfect aye?

I think mil is abit insensitive lately :(

First, it was this. Then yesterday and on Saturday, more of the same issue. Issue on my weight, arrowed indirectly.

Initially, i could still laugh it off, finding it amusing. Then second remark came, i was like oh, ok. The last straw was the third comment. That sparked the fuse off. 3 insensitive remarks all within a week's span? Not so funny anymore.

I think no woman will ever be happy if she were to be subjected for her weight issue, be it skinny or fat. Mil herself doesn't, so why say those tactless, insensitive remarks to me? >.<

Perhaps she will only be happy if i'm left with nothing but just skin and bones. Or when i am 45-46 kg like her daughters and herself? And what's laughable is that i don't think i'm fat. Fleshy yes but not fat. So what is her problem exactly? Ugh. Maybe she likes her daughter in law to be real skinny. Oh well...

Nice Sunday

If only every Sunday is like yesterday's...

I had a wonderful day yesterday. You may not find it that special, but it is.. to me, at least :)

The beautiful morning began with many many kisses and cuddles from the boys, first the big boy then followed by the little boys.. Bliss *smile* Then it was off to brunch at our 'every Sunday morning fish ball stall for the past 4 years'. Reading paper and coffee under the breezy outdoor setting, plus a play area for the boys to entertain themselves. That's pretty ideal isn't it? Best of all, brunch-ing there costs less than $15 for all of us in total ;)

After that it was car washing for hb and i. Usually, hb will go first and i stay behind to put the boys to sleep. After hb finishes with his, he would help me with mine.. (yes, hb found out about the other 2 'secret' scratches yesterday! Ackk.. Thought i could escape his 'eagle eyes' if i were to wash the exterior myself and hb cleans the interior but guess not! Heh)

Anyway, after we were done, we dropped the boys off at in laws' and went on for our appointment for couple's tuina at Club St. I quite like this so-called TCM spa. To me, it doesn't quite feel like tuina, but more like normal relaxing massage. Furthermore, it is in a spa setting and my therapist yesterday was so good (okay, it was hb's therapist actually but he kindly 'lent' her to me for 1 time use. Ha!) that i fell asleep during the last bit when she was doing foot massage. For your info, i hardly fall asleep elsewhere other than my own bed. I am not like the husband. Lol :PpPp

And before that, our date was at the nearby Spinelli, enjoying our lazy afternoon with latte for the husband and the very yummy Cookie Spin for myself + a slice of chocolate cake to share, reading the rest of the paper for the day and yakking the rest of the time away before leaving hand in hand for our appointment.

The happy day got rounded off with our monthly dosage of Lim Chee Guan which we got nearby after the appointment.

Nice.

Looking forward for next month's this Sunday! :D

Kitchen disaster, again

I'm so gonna cry..

'It' happened again today! Ugh...

I was gonna bake bestie her surprise birthday cake today. But everything went so so wrong.. everything, totally.

1. sponge cake

It didn't rise. It wasn't normal. Because i listened to the maid and let her mixed the alot-not-melted butter part with the little-melted ones = butter became thick. It made my batter curdled and resulted a heavy, thin sponge cake :(

I re-baked this.

2. the egg yolk mixture

After whisking the egg yolk mixture like a madman into a creamy and thick mixture + gelatin paste, i poured the prepared syrup into it!! The syrup was meant for brushing the sponge cake :(

4 eggs wasted, not to mentioned, an extra of 4 egg whites on top of the already-there 4 whites for me to brainstorm how to use them all.

I re-do the egg yolk mixture, along with the gelatin paste and the syrup with rum.

3. egg whites

When i was re-doing the gelatin paste, the hot water accidentally got into my 5 egg whites bowl. Egg whites cannot be contaminated especially if you wanna whisk it to its peak form and i actually wanted to attempt macarons with it! :(((

4. 7" cake ring

The recipe did state that it was for a 7" cake ring but i stubbornly think that 8" cake ring (coz i only have 8" round cake ring) will do as well. After i've made my cream cheese mixture, i realised that it is not enough afterall for an 8" cake ring. Sigh.

I ended up using the normal 7" cake tin lined with Glad Wrap, praying and hoping i can just pull the cake out beautifully without anymore problems. *crossing my fingers now*

What's worst is that the cake tin isn't tall enough for my final layer of cream cheese! *sobs*

5. syrup

After i covered the sponge cake with the cream cheese mixture, i realised i forgot to brush the syrup onto the sponge cake before slapping the cream cheese on!

6. syrup again

After everything was done, just when i thought nothing can ever go wrong again, i accidentally tipped the syrup container over which meant for the fruits tomorrow!

So much for a surprise. I'm so frustrated and upset that i'm pretty sure if i were to scream out loud, even the friends in KL could hear me!

To add on to my misery, i realised i did have a 7" cake ring afterall (
but in square shape) when everything was done and i was taking my shower.

Today isn't my day, really :(

And i think i cannot bake at night, especially when it's almost my sleeping time. Poor bestie... sigh.

All i can do now is pray that the cake can be pulled up tomorrow and the Glad Wrap will not break in the midst of it!

I really h.a.t.e kitchen disasters. Period.

p.s : but then, who doesn't right? :P

pps : really looking forward to some pampering tomorrow - facial, yay! But not the extraction part though - ouch!

ppps: thank god my unlucky day has got nothing to do with the car!!! *phew* I read (my star sign) that this month, accidents will happen when i'm rushing off to somewhere. But the thing is, i'm always rushing from one point to another!

Oh no!!!
