NYE!

It's new year eve today! Time really flies don't they? It feels like yesterday when i first turned 19 years old and here i am, going to be 26 real soon and a mom to 2 lovely boys. Somehow, i cant quite accept the fact that i'm married and i'm a mother. I'm still very much a child myself. Hmmmm, is that why my boys find me fun to play with? But one thing for sure, i'm definitely not some typical mothers you see on the streets.. I know i cant quite connect/ communicate with mothers who talk about nothing but children :P I feel they are too obsessed with their children too much till they've neglected themselves. I was once like that too lol! But of course, there's no point telling them that coz they don't feel that way. What matters most is their happiness. "Happy mommy = happy kids". Just my .. I was like them when i had my first boy. For as long as i know, i cant help but talk about children, childcare, baby's food, enrichment classes, baby books etc only. When i go to malls, first section i'd go to is Children's dept. If you cant find me there, i would be at Household dept. Lol. I bought less than 5 pcs of clothes in that 1.5 year. Amazing isn't it? Bet hb would love to see me reverting to my old self..

I have now passed that phase. I think 'that phase' happens to most first time mothers. But after the second child comes along, it's a different story all together. Perhaps because after the first child, i feel i've sufficient knowledge and experience to not repeat what i've done before. Thus, the enthusiasm dipped. But then again, what is enough? Lol. It's really up the mother. To each her own i would say. However, that doesn't mean i love my second child or my children lesser now. Definitely not the case for me! :D

Alrighty, time for some new year resolutions ! :D

  • to lose weight lol.. that's like my every year resolution!
  • to be a better mother (psstt: i cannot be a better wife already ah, coz i'm already too good! Hahaha *thick skin*)
  • to master eye make up skill!
  • er, seriously, i cant think of anything else

What will i be doing today? Nothing much. Same old stuff. Will be watching Narnia tonight with hb. Wonder if we'll be able to catch the fireworks at Marina but i think most probably not :( But before that, we'll be having 'family dinner' at Burger King first :P

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone! Hope next year would be a better year for you and me!

Frustration..

It is really frustrating when you feel the need of something so badly and yet you cant get it? Arrghh When o' when will my need be satisfied? :P

Anyway, rants aside. I've got a couple of things which i'm looking forward to today..

  1. My very close gf is coming back today after being away for a month in Indonesia. Can't wait to see her again! Miss her like cwaazzeee.. *grin*
  2. Finally, a kickboxing session in an hour more after a week of pigging out. Go away FATS!
  3. Last but not least, spa at 7pm with hb! *yippeee* Massage, scrub and steam bath here i come.. lol!

Opened some of the cookies i bought yesterday even though we just had our very sinful lunch- nasi lemak with fried chicken wing *yum*! The cookies are equally as yummy and sinful too but definitely more adorable. Hehe. Couldn't resist but to snap a picture of it :)

Ta-dah.. Chicken Little choc cookies and Mickey Mouse almond butter cookies ;)

Kids are expensive!

Brought both kids to see paed today, didi for his last jab and korkor for having morning cough daily for the past few weeks. Total bill : $110 and thank god i was charged for 1 consultation only which was $30. The rest were the costs of various medication which i've bought. $110.. that's almost half of the salary of what my helper earns monthly. Or perhaps next time i should just bring them to GP aye? But the thing is i only trust Dr. Keoy and no one else :P Also, i was informed that there's another vaccination available just a month ago, prevention from pneumonia. The cost of it? $170 each! *faint* Er, let me think about it yeah..

Yay!

Finally, got my kitty bag after more than a week of lemming! Alot of hardwork and phone calls just to get this bag, mind you, but it's all worth it. And it came with 20% discount! Thank God i made some calls and realised that i could go down to Bugis to get it instead of going all the way to the airport where i first saw it. Besides the bag, i've also gotten quite a bit of titbits for my boys from this awesome shop in BV ( they've got so much titbits/ snacks in there) and also Faye Wong's latest album for hb. I'm a happy girl! :)

What i like most about this bag is the little details they put in besides the fact that they are huge and can store alot of my 'garbage' :P

Went to Malaysian High Comm this morning before my 'shopping spree', and i was told that i cant renew my IC there. I knew it! Read it somewhere sometime before this that IC can only be renewed in Malaysia. Mom gave me wrong info! The good news is, if i were to renew it after this year, the fine is only RM10! Yippee! So next year it is, when i go back for CNY. Gonna renew together with my sister who is in Taiwan.

----------------------------------------------------

What i cooked for dinner last night ~~:

Pork porridge/ congee with dried scallops and dried oysters

If only i have preserved eggs (pei dan) and some chinese parsley, it would be much more sshhiiookk

Last but not least, hb opened his pressie last night and as i have suspected, he knew i was getting his present for him yesterday when he called me. So no surprise afterall and what's worst, he even knew what i was getting alongside with the brand!

Ta-dah.. Braun Buffel wallet :)

Sales!

Just got back from Isetan sale not too long ago. It's been ages since i went to one. This is what i realised...
  • this will be my last sale that i'll go to
  • dislike digging for clothes in a big pile while getting pushed here and there

Sale isn't my cup of tea. I got nauseated from queuing! Who wouldn't aye? I was queuing for like an hour for 1 small item Lol. Others, they have bags and bags of stuff. It really amazed me. Wonder how they did it? Probably i should re-read the Shopaholic books by Sophia Kinsella to get a few tips I was supposed to meet a gf there but unfortunately, she's down with flu and cough for the past week, so i had to brave the madding crowds alone. Get well soon Tanny dear .Must thank an angel here too for sending me the coupon earlier for back up else i couldn't have gone today as i'm not an Isetan card holder *muaks*. Intended to get 2 items actually but found out that they didn't have Carlo Rino bags there. I want my kitty bag!

Gonna surprise hb tonight with his early birthday pressie.. But i think he sort of suspected what i'm up to already when he called me while i was q-ing in the mall. Was hoping he wouldn't call today. Oh well.. :P

Oh yeah, to my M'sian friends who are overseas. Do you know that today is the third last day for us, Malaysians to re-new our IC? After this, a fine will be imposed. And i've not re-newed mine *boo-hoo* I must go down to Malaysia High Comm tomorrow to do it. Mom already called me twice today to remind me Omg, i forgot that didi (my youngest son) lost my M'sian IC and driving license, a couple of days ago! Oh no, does this mean more troubles for me?

Hb's pressie, all wrapped up :)

First entry

Finally, a blog on my own after so long. Always wanted to blog but am afraid of the time that i'll be spending on the PC, thus, the hesitation. With 2 kids, time is precious! *lol* Hmm, wondering if i can add emoticons to this? It'll be so much more adorable :P

X'mas had just passed. Gosh, time flies! And last week, i was so looking forward to it. Somehow, it didn't quite feel like X'mas afterall? Ahh, it has to be the lacked of radio in the house - got spoilt by the 2 terrorists. So no X'mas songs etc although there is a X'mas tree (hands-me-down from my in laws- will get a new one when i'm more loaded together with fab decos. Meanwhile, just bear with it :P) standing tall next to the TV cabinet with at least 20 pressies under it. Hee hee .. But now, it's all empty. Opened them on Sunday night after our feast, cooked by me and Adam (Mindy's American bf). Er, Mindy is my youngest sister in law btw :) And yupss, her bf can cook and he cooks darn well too! ;)

This Christmas is one of my most memorable Christmas in my entire life, apart from my school days' Chrismas (u know what i'm talking about girls, if you're reading this *wink*). Why?

1. got my first ever Chrismas pressie from hb and boy, was i surprised or what! Hee.. Caught me offguard totally when i saw 4 extras pressies (2 for me and 1 for each boy) on Fri morning. Pssstt.. hb went on a secret shopping spree on thurs night when he told me he was going to office to work. What embarrassed most is that i actually went to him after he got back around midnight and sulked, complained that he was no good, up till today (after 6 years) i've never gotten a X'mas pressie from him bla bla bla..haha.. and hb, just looked at me and said, 'huh, that's it? Is that why you are so sad and down?' *kabish* He didn't even tell me then! So i just walked back to kids' room to zzz... and the next morning, taa-dah, surprise! I still didn't know who the santa was then. Hb kept saying 'cigarrette' = secret when i asked him about it. I thought it was from May but no. I smsed her to confirm. Then i even called my mil (mother in law) but she knows nothing about it. Last but not least, i thought it was from Mindy. I did suspect it was from hb but i thought, cant be! He'll never be that sweet right? *oppsss* Hee hee. Love you darling :*

2. My first home cooked X'mas dinner by Adam and i. Boy, it turned out gggrrreaat! *yummy* I love the roast turkey! Way much better than the turkey i ordered last year from Marina Mandarin Hotel which costs a bomb! It was moist and tender *phew* Must thank Adam for this. Hehe. As for the dessert, it was fantastic! Strawberry triffle with butter almond ice cream *slurrp*. I replaced the brandy with rum and the whipped cream with ice cream. What's too bad is that i don't have a clear glass to show off the art of my handiwork~ lol.

I know this is abit late, but what the heck..

Merry X'mas everyone!

Dinner - roast turkey and mashed potato topped with brown sauce made from turkey juice, cranberry sauce, sauteed festive vege (but i only took carrots and 1-2 zucchini) and sausage meat and cornbread stuffing. Not in the pic : sweet potato custard

Hands-me-down Christmas tree with lotsa pressies underneath plus 2 angels :P

Hb's Christmas pressie for me :)
